Bespoke Wedding Invitations for D & C’s Elegant London Wedding
A wedding invitation is more than just stationery—it’s the first glimpse into the couple’s love story and the celebration ahead. For D & C’s wedding at The Old Marylebone Town Hall, we designed a truly bespoke invitation suite that blended artistic elegance with Art Deco charm, setting the perfect tone for their sophisticated London wedding.
A Stunning Gatefold Design with Watercolour Artwork
The centrepiece of this invitation suite was the gatefold day invite, featuring a breath taking watercolour illustration of Old Marylebone Town Hall. Created by talented London artist Christian Coop, the artwork beautifully captured the grandeur of the couple’s ceremony venue, adding a highly personal and artistic touch to their stationery.
Thoughtful Watercolour Details & Timeline Icons
The artistic elements extended beyond the main invite, with a series of matching watercolour symbols used in the order of the day timeline. Each symbol told a story, giving guests a visual preview of the key moments of the day:
- A classic London bus to represent guest transport.
- An iconic black cab symbolising the end of the evening.
- A margarita with a chilli to hint at their signature cocktail.
- A delicious slice of cake to celebrate their vintage buttercream wedding cake.
These charming illustrations added a sense of fun and personality while ensuring that every detail felt cohesive and intentional.
Art Deco Elegance Meets Modern Luxury
Inspired by the couple’s sophisticated wedding style, the invite featured Art Deco-inspired design and modern typography, balancing vintage elegance with a fresh, modern aesthetic. The order of the date was down the left panel, the invitation text in the middle section and the extra details were elegantly placed along the right-hand panel of the gatefold, creating a sleek and stylish layout.
Luxurious Finishing Touches
To complement the rich tones of their wedding reception at Langan’s, each invitation was carefully tied with an olive green velvet ribbon—a nod to the elegant green chairs at the venue. This sumptuous finishing touch added a tactile, luxurious feel to the suite, making each invite a delight to unwrap.
Double-Sided Flat Evening Invites
For the evening guests, we created matching double-sided flat invitations, ensuring a seamless design across the entire suite. These invites carried the same artistic and Art Deco influences, maintaining a cohesive and sophisticated aesthetic.
A Bespoke Invitation Suite to Treasure
D & C’s wedding invitations were a true reflection of their love for London, elegant design, and personal touches. Every detail, from the custom artwork to the velvet ribbon, was carefully considered to create a suite that felt both luxurious and meaningful.
